about north 1346

north 1346 is a new 2-story brick bungalow. we went through many design exercises trying to maintain the structure of this original brick bungalow. due to some uncommon zoning restrictions, we were unable to reuse the existing structure. zoning conditions like these and the smaller cellars of the early 20th-century sometimes force the hand of developers. unfortunately this was one of our favorite existing homes that was just erased from history due to existing zoning regulations and unique construction costs but was replaced with a thoughtful infill to the existing neighborhood.
